General
Know that AMJ Campbell has full measures in place so you can move as safely as possible during Covid-19. Yes, our day-to-day operations continue in accordance to the recommendations outlined by The Public Health Agency of Canada. In addition, we have increased our cleaning & sanitation practices and put new protocols in place to enable less handling and personal interaction. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions or voice any concerns. We’re in this together.
It’s a good idea to start planning for your home or office move with AMJ at least seven weeks in advance of moving day. Sure, it may seem like a long time, but you will be surprised how quickly moving day approaches. Don’t worry, your AMJ Campbell moving team will do everything we can to help you stay organized. Our pre-move survey and moving toolkit are two key resources.
There are few factors to consider when deciding on a date to move your home or office with AMJ Campbell. The good news is it really depends on what kind of planner you are! The winter months are less busy, so planning and availability is more flexible. Summer is much busier. This means planning further in advance. Thankfully, AMJ has helpful tips, tricks and resources to make it easier for you to plan ahead.There are few factors to consider when deciding on a date to move your home or office with AMJ Campbell.
The best way to stay organized for a home or office move with AMJ Campbell is to take things step by step and give yourself plenty of time. We recommend keeping track of all your moving details and tasks with AMJ’s moving checklist.
Well, yes; if it’s not safe to move. If you like, your AMJ moving consultant can provide you with a comprehensive list. Briefly, however, here are some things we categorize as potentially not safe to move in our vehicles: aerosols, flammables, cleaning agents, combustibles, perishables, plants, ammunition and paints. It’s important to note that we recommend precious items and important documents not be put on truck they are not covered for loss or damage. Definitely inquire, if you have any concerns.
Every piece of furniture is individually protected. We are very proud of our protection policy. In fact, AMJ Campbell has a firm policy regarding the proper wrapping of furniture items for transit. Each item will be carefully wrapped in a clean moving pad. Light coloured upholstered furniture will be shrink-wrapped in plastic for extra protection. Mattresses and box springs will be placed either in plastic bags or specially designed cartons.
Home Moving
This is an in-home assessment, so your AMJ Campbell expert moving team can identify the exact service you need. More importantly, we get to meet each other. Essentially, your AMJ representative will schedule a visit to your home at your convenience to chat and answer any questions in person. This is your chance to show us everything you are moving — even the stuff tucked away in the attic. Doing so allows us to work better together and we can provide you a much more accurate estimation for packing, logistical and moving solutions.
Of course, AMJ is happy to help you get settled into your new home! Your local AMJ expert will be sure to help you get things set up the way you want. When you move with AMJ, we assign someone to act your destination agent. They will take care of setting up any required third-party services (IE: appliance reconnection) and handle the unpacking of any cartons put together by AMJ packing experts.
You bet. AMJ Campbell can disassemble and reassemble all kinds furniture for safe transportation. There are a couple things to note, however. Water beds will require special servicing, for example. Also, if you disassemble your furniture before we arrive, you will be responsible for putting it back together. (We recommend taking photographs during the process!) We care very much about your property, so if anything is fixed to your walls or ceilings, we will leave that alone, too.
Just tell us about the appliances you want to move, and you can be sure the right AMJ moving expert will be there to help. Note that some items like washers, dryers, refrigerators with ice makers, grandfather clocks and pool tables may need special servicing before they can be moved. But don’t sweat, your AMJ moving consultant can make these arrangements for you.
We have pets too, so we get it; your pets are part of your family. AMJ Campbell moving experts will, of course, make arrangements to ship your pets by air for a long-distance move. We can also arrange for pick-up, delivery and kennel services. It goes without saying that pets cannot be transported by a moving van. If you prefer to make your own arrangements, we recommend you book your service at least three weeks in advance.
Yes, with a little love and affection. AMJ Campbell can absolutely arrange for a third-party service to keep your plants happy and healthy during your move. If you are travelling long-distance, we recommend moving your plants in a temperature-controlled environment such as your own car. Extreme temperatures (like during the middle of summer or winter in Canada) are not so good for plants. Also, they usually need more fresh air that what’s available in a windowless moving van.

Absolutely. AMJ inherently knows the importance of keeping your business information confidential. Our highly secure office moving services can include taking care of all your document management and electronic equipment shredding and recycling needs. Know that our bonded, uniformed and photo identified staff can collect and shred your confidential material. For extra peace of mind, we’ll issue you a certificate of document or equipment destruction for your records.
Yes! AMJ Campbell office moving services include a furniture buy-back option and the decommissioning or recycling of your team’s old furniture.
AMJ Campbell has specialized commercial movers in the warehouse division who are equipped to handle every aspect of transporting high-value equipment, facilities and products. We can co-ordinate the necessary resources required to keep your production schedule on target.
It depends. If you are overseeing the move of your office, definitely check in with your colleagues in the accounting department about tracking expenses. If you are moving 40 km or more to start a new job, business or attend school, and are paying for the move yourself, you should definitely inquire with the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.
Storage
Moving your home could come with many reasons to require either short-term or long-term storage. Many AMJ customers take advantage of storage when they are staging a home, downsizing, deciding on closing dates or there is a change in construction dates. We are flexible, so just let us know.
When using an AMJ Campbell storage solution, your stuff is safe — no question. Items are stored in private wooden vaults, and not combined with any other customer’s belongings. They are blanket wrapped and shrink wrapped for protection and only permitted staff have access to our permanently locked and bonded warehouses. We also have a video surveillance system throughout the warehouse, office and building exterior.
Most importantly, when taking advantage of an AMJ storage solution, keep what you need with you. Your goods will be stored in palletized storage vaults in an AMJ Campbell agent’s warehouse. If you do need to access your storage vaults, there is a fee. If you do your own packing, remember to pack your storage items in a carton and empty your dressers, chests and drawers before your move into storage.
It’s highly unlikely. All items stored with AMJ are ticketed and recorded for easy tracking purposes.
If you’re in Ontario, yes. AMJ Campbell has premium self-storage units, available at multiple locations across the province, to which you can have access any time with no appointment. We have a wide range of unit sizes from 25 to 2,000 square feet, so you can select the right size for you.
Definitely. AMJ Campbell’s home delivery vehicles are equipped with GPS devices, allowing your customer service representative to see where drivers are located at any given time and communicate accordingly to the customer. Just in case, all AMJ home delivery drivers are available by cellphone for immediate contact while en-route.

All kinds. With AMJ Campbell, you can choose the delivery-service level which best meets the need of you and your customer. AMJ Campbell can offer ‘White Glove’, ‘Room of Choice’ and ‘Threshold’ service levels as well as everything in between. Just ask us about it!
Staff and clients have access to customer-order details and flexibility with keeping in touch (ie: call, email, text) as well as the option to be transferred directly to a customer service representative. You can review the delivery status in real-time and view completed deliveries via inserted photos from the driver after each and every customer’s order. AMJ Campbell indeed uses top-end software to manage all home delivery orders.
We will develop a schedule that works for you. It’s important to know the size and distance of your move will be key factors. An AMJ delivery service expert will collaborate with you to create a delivery schedule that makes the most sense for where you are going and what you’re bringing. Just let us know.

We work with our global partners to organize storage services in a secure, climate-controlled environments short and long-term, so you can rest assured that your possessions stay safe. We also coordinate storage services at the point of origin for anyone who needs it.
We’ve designed a proven packing methodology built from decades of experience that you can learn about in detail on our Safe Packing section. We use custom packing and padding materials, wooden crates, and modular cartons to ensure everything is shipped as tightly and securely as possible. This reduces friction, shipment size and subsequent costs.
We tailor unique schedules based on each client’s needs. The time required can vary depending on final destination and the method of shipping (air, sea, or road). As an example, you can find estimated transit times from select cities on our Transit Time section.
Prohibited goods include propane tanks, paint, thinner, matches, aerosol cans, fire extinguishers, nail polish remover, fertilizer, many cleaning products and any other corrosive, explosive or flammable material. Visit our Restricted Items resource section for more information.
Yes. Despite our very best efforts to protect your belongings at every turn, there are inherent risks when shipping overseas. We’ll help you select the right transit protection coverage to further safeguard your belongings. Visit our Insuring Your Shipment section to learn more.
Yes. Motor vehicles require special planning when it comes time to organize and customs clear your shipment, but our team will happily guide you through the process. Please note that no personal items may be shipped inside the vehicle.
Any consumables (teas, spices, protein powders and even dog food) should not be shipped overseas. Additional scrutiny by customs agents can cause delays and expenses. If you have specific concerns, ask us for more information.
